1. General behaviour By
participating in the Nordic Navigation Challenge (hereafter NNC) the
driver accept his responsability to act as a worthy representative for
motorcyclists in general,and NNC in particular. This implies that participants must:
a. Follow rules and legislation.
b. Drive in a "non disturbing" way.
c. Act friendly and in a spirit of sportmanship.
2. Insurance It is the participants responsability to maintain insurance for his vehicle and his own person.
3. Safety It
is the participants responsability to continously evaluate the risks
associated with road traffic, and act according to these assesments.
4. Duration of the competition Class 12 PPK: The competition ends exactly 12 hours after it started.
Class 24PPK and 24: The competition ends exactly 24 hours after it started.
5. Logbook all participants are required to keep a logbook throughout the competition. Incomplete
logbook, late hand-over of the logbook to the organizers or incorrectly
filled out logbook may cause points to be deducted.
6. Refuelling Maximum accepted distance between to documented refuelling stops is 500 km.
7. Dropping out of the race Participant that is forced to drop out of the race must report this to race office as soon as possible, however never later than the expected arrival time at the finish.

8. Vehicles
All types of motorcycles that may legally be driven on public roads are welcome to participate in the NNC. The organizers reserves the right to deny start for any vehicles that are clearly not suited to be used in public traffic.
9. Extra fuel / aux fueltank
Extra fuel carried in loose canisters is not allowed.
Should the participant choose to use an aux tank, this has to be of a safe design, approved by the rally master.
10. Mechanical breakdown The
motorcycle shall, at all times, travel under its own power. If your
motorcycle breaks down and cannot be repaired at that location, you
cannot finish the event.
11. Swapping motorcycle The paticipant must drive the same motorcycle throughout the event.
12. Odometer The motorcycle odometer must be operational for the entire duration of the rally.
If particiant choose to use GPS in addition to the bike odometer, both
readings have to be recorded throughout the event to be valid.
13. Categories Participants may start in one of the followig categories
a. Driver
b.
Passenger
c. Team Participats starting as a team have to finish as a team. All team members,indepandant of oneandother, have to fulfil the requirements for documentation.
14. Drugs, alcohol etc.
NNC applies a strict 0-tolerance when it comes to drugs and alcohol. Breathing tests for alcohol can be performed before start. Accepted level is 0,0‰.
15. Drivers license Driver must hold a valid drivers license for his motorcycle throughout the event. Licence must be presented before and after the event. A driver that get his license seized by the police during the event will be disqualified.
16. Cheating
Cheating or attempted cheating = Disqualified for life.
17. Route planning Participant may not seek or accept external help with the route planning.
Elektronic tools such as GPS, route planning software etc. is permitted but not needed.
18. Follower
Participants may not be followed by person(s) that are not participating in the event. Eg your friend may not ride with you either as a pillion or on his own bike.
19. Passeger Participant registred as passenger may never be the driver of the motorcycle.
20. Drivers meeting The night before the race a drivers meeting will be held. This meeting is mandatory for all participants. At this meeting you will be given the full event documentation, containing: -Logbook

21. Rallyflag Every participant will be given a unique rallyflag. Should the participant loose the flag, all remaning photos must show the drivers face.
23. Pictures Digital photos is required when the event documentation calls for picctures. No pictures = No points. We recommend a camera with a removable memory card.
24. Pictures, contents A picture must, unless other information is given in the event documentation, contain the following to be considered valid:
a. The rallyflag and its unique number.
b. The documented object in accordance with instructions given.
c. The participants motorcycle (where applicable)
d. Any participant entered as passenger.
25. Reciepts used for documentation, general requirements: All reciepts used to verify trhe route travelled must contain the following information:
a. Date, time, location
b.
Petrol reciept must also contain information about the amount of petrol purchased.
26. Missing reciept for petrol Should
it not be possible to recieve a reciept for refuelling, the aprticipant
has to add the following information to his logbook:
Picture 1: A clear picture showing the filled volume of petrol and the participants rallyflag.
Picture 2:
A picture of the petrol station (identifiable) and the participants rallyflag.
27. Rest A minimum of 1 hour rest-stop is mandatory for all participants of the 24 hour NNC. It is recommended to extend this to at least 2 continuous hours of rest. It is up to the driver to decide when, where and how htis rest-stop is executed, observing the following limitations:
a. A valid reststop can only be claimed within the time window 00:00 – 06:00.
b. Participant that is unable to present proof for his 1 hour reststop will be disqualified.
28. Rest, documentation
a. Rest, Start: Reciept according to minimum requirements. Odometer reading(s) recorded in logbook.
b. Rest, end: Reciept according to minimum requirements. Odometer reading(s) recorded in logbook. Accepted difference in odometer readings is max. 3 km.
29.Rest, points and options There are three (3) different options concerning rest:
a. Drive! Drive all night, take no rest = Disqualified in accordance with §27b.
b. 1 hour rest, or 1 + 1 hour rest. This option will make sure the participant is still in the race, but gives no rest-bonus points.
c. 2 hours continuous rest. This options will give the participant 400 points rest bonus.
Every additional full hour on top of the 2 continuous hours will give the participant an additional 50 points.
30. Checkpoints Checkpoints are always a town or a specific well known and easy to find location. Checkpoints always has to be verified with a reciept.
Note:
The adress on the reciept must match the requirements in the race instructions. Participants of NNC 24 hours must visit at least 4 (four) checkpoints to qualify as finishers. Participants of NNC Light (12 hours) must visit at least 3 (three) checkpoints to qualify as finishers..
31. Bonus locations NNC
contains more than 40 bonus locations. The bonus locations have
different points assigned, and they are of very mixed
difficulty. It is up to the participant to decide when, where and how the locations are visited. Please
note that some locations are restricted in time, and may have
considerably different requirements for documentation that has to be
followed for the location to count as valid.
32. Dynamic points Participant may claim point for non -fixed locations. More information about this will be presented in the race documentaion.
